I am having problems getting my Synch to connect via USB!! Comes up as Samsung mobile Modem?!? PC Studio shows no connection! Can someone help??

How do i hook my samsung SGH-A701 up to my computer it doesn't show up on the removable storage and device part in my computer.

Hey, I recently got the SGH-A707 (SYNC) also and love it. Now I am downloading updates for the PC Studio 3.0 that came with my USB cable. At first all my icons were disabled, so I am hoping the updates fix it. My main point is to upload MP3s from my PC to my phone - to use the phone as an MP3 player as I workout - since I have to have my phone with me (kids). Has anyone done this, because the instructions (manual) does not explain this very well. Also, can you use uploaded MP3s as ringtones? Please let me know by emailing me at ladymayfield@yahoo.com I truly appreciate your help, I am going bald from tearing my hair out in frustration!

I just went looking for PC Studio 3.1 on the Samsung site including following the link in this web page and I can't find it either. There don't seem to be drivers for the A707 available standalone for download either. Frustrating.

I have a SGH A707- I just started using PC Studio I am have one problem that I can't figure out. I can exchange and manage any file on my phone except the ones under the Messaging category. None of the inbox, outbox, sent, etc are showing up on my directory tree on th PC Studio program. Can anyone help.

good god, what a waste of time this software has been so far. Thanks for the clues about setup for this bloody phone! Hope it works once downloaded. Too bad they can sell this product with the phone when it's clearly not set up to work with this model. Thanks again!

Thank you so much for the information. I wasted a whole Sunday afternoon trying to sync my Sync. my previous 3 phones were Nokia and I was used to those phones. I liked very much the interface and the fun factor of the Sync. After reading your instructions, I finally could sync my phone. Thank you again!

Thanks for the info, but I'm still having some problems. I had the Samsung D807 phone, and used the "Contacts Copier" to copy all my contacts into a .pbo file. But "Contents Copier" does not work with the A707.

Using the PC Studio "Manage Contacts" thing, I don't see an export or import button in any of the menus, just the individual entries. Is there a way to export all my contacts from the D807 in a format the my A707 can recognize and import it back? For some reason, the PC Studio "Synchronize" does not work after I installed it either...

Help!

Thanks for the great info, i just purchased a new SGH A707 from cingular and i spent hours trying to find a way to transfer my contacts from my pc to my new phone. i finaly found this site, and thanks again for the great info and direct link to the studio pc download.

Yeah, you can. I had an old simcard on my last phone and had to update everything manually for this one. Unfortunately, I found the Samsung software when I was almost done re-entering them all. :/

would I be able to save my contacts from my phone to my pc and then make updates to that contacts list on teh pc and send it back to the phone? If so, that would be great...I just got this phone Monday because my 18 month old son used my old phone as a shotput, baseball,etc. and threw it across the room Therefore breaking my screen and I had no way of getting my address book entries.

The Samsung PC Studio is a computer interface to the phone. It works with USB or Bluetooth. You can sync up your contacts and exchange media and files between the PC and phone. There is even a nifty little media converter to convert movies into a format that you can play them on your phone. I was messing around with that feature this week, and it works really well. Apparently, the software also let's you use the phone as a modem for your computer.

There's one thing it can't do that would be nice: you can't install Java applications from it. Or at least I can't, and I've haven't seen anyone that can.

Thanks for the info..I have this phone and it's kinda hard for me to get used to because i've ALWAYS had a nokia phone. But there are some features on this phone that I do like. What all does this PC studio 3.1 do?
